Camber Outdoors: When Women Lead

Camber Outdoors: When Women Lead

Camber Outdoors is striving for workplace equity in the active-outdoor industries by elevating and accelerating women’s leadership—from backcountry to boardroom. They’re ushering in a new paradigm from the C-suite down, and at the same time, they’re helping women pair a passion for the outdoors with a career in the active-outdoor industries (they created a job board made just for women + outdoor industry jobs). Let’s talk details about how this organization is moving the dial in women’s leadership and workplace equity.

The Camber Outdoors CEO Pledge

A cultural shift in women’s leadership needs executive commitment—that’s why Camber Outdoors introduced the CEO Pledge in 2015. It’s a national, thought-leading initiative that provides a platform for companies to establish women’s leadership as a strategic business imperative. Coming up at Outdoor Retailer + Snow Show, their Thought-Leader Keynote will gather industry leaders to share their insights, lessons learned, and progress under the pledge.

The Career Center

The Camber Outdoors Career Center helps women turn their passion for the outdoors into their profession and brings talented women of all backgrounds into the active-outdoor industries. While the CEO Pledge works at the executive level to cultivate workplace equity, the Career Center activates women’s leadership at all levels and promotes job openings from partner companies who have committed to women’s leadership as a priority.

Programming for Future Leaders

Camber Outdoors has top-notch resources for women who aspire to either join or be promoted in the active-outdoor industries. Their Career Center and Camber Exchange networking events help women looking to join the industry, while their Professional Mentoring Program and entrepreneur showcase, Pitchfest, highlight current leaders and cultivate rising stars in leadership.

Building a Community

By building a community of extraordinary people who believe in the vision of Everyone’s Outdoors, Camber Outdoors hopes to create an inclusive outdoor space where diverse talent thrives. This organization wants YOU to be a part of their community if:

You love the outdoors—in any way, shape or form.
You’re a woman who works in the active-outdoor industries and wants to become a leader.
You’re a woman who wants to work in the active-outdoor industries (even if you don’t know it yet).
You are already a leader in the active-outdoor industries.
You support workplace equity.
